ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's bowling team took seventh place at the opening Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree in Adrian, Mich.
Lawrence Tech opened the tournament with a 744 in game two followed by a 752, but came back strong in game four to bowl an 847. The Blue Devils opened baker play with a 663 followed by a 670 and a 702 before closing with a 629. LTU finished the day with a total pin fall of 5742, 884 pins behind tournament winner Concordia (Mich.) University - Ann Arbor.
Melissa Sleda (SR/Applegate, MI) paced the Blue Devils with a 686 (171.50) to finish in 19th place following her games of 203, 135, 152, and 196. Sarah Schulz took 20th place with a 681 (170.25) with a game high 195 in the fourth game. Treasa Rost (SO/Cedarburg, Wisc.) bowled a 668 (167.00) to take 23rd place followed by Kaitlyn Kustak with a 594 (148.50) in 36th place, and Nicole Hedges (FR/Mt. Clemens, Mich.) in 51st place with a 452 (113.00).
The Blue Devils are back on the lanes starting October 28 when they open American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference season with back-to-back tournaments at Wayne Bowl in Wayne, Mich.
