LONDON, Ky. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team finished in second place following round two's lowest score of the day, a 15-over par 303. Lawrence Tech shot a combined 615 (312 | 303), 39-over par.
The Blue Devils finished the tournament one stroke behind Cumberland (Tenn.) University who finished in first place, shooting a 38-over par 614 (299 | 315).
Josh Wilson (JR/Papillion, Neb. ) and Josh Dirlam (SR/Spring Arbor, MI) were the top performers for the Blue Devils, shooting a 7-over par 151 to finish in a tie for fifth place. Wilson, who was tied for seventh after round one, moved up two spots following his 4-over par 74 in round two. Dirlam was tied for 18th after round one, but shot a 1-over par 73 to finish with a 151.
Josh Stein, playing as an individual, finished at 11-over par 155 following a 7-over par 79 on Tuesday. Miguel Sanchez (SR/Cadiz, Spain) fell five spots after shooting a 9-over par 81 to finish at 14-over par 158 (77 | 81). Zachary Farrer moved up six spots to tie for 21st after his low round of 5-over par 77.
Kirk Markowski (SR/Dryden, Ontario, CAN) rounds out the leaderboard for the Blue Devils, as he moved into a tie for 25th after finishing the tournament at 16-over par 160 (83 | 77).
Erik Hermanson of Union (Ky.) College won the individual medal at 1-over par 145 (71 | 74).
Lawrence Tech is back on the course Thursday, Sept. 14 when they travel to WHAC #2 at Crooked Creek G.C. in Fort Wayne, Ind.
