GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's golf team finished in third place at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree No. 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich. at Kaufman Golf Course.
Lawrence Tech shot a 12-over par 300 on the par 72 course, finishing six strokes behind Indiana Tech who won the opening jamboree with a 6-over par 294. Lewis Scott of University of Northwestern Ohio won the individual medal at 4-under par 68.
The Blue Devils were led by a pair of seniors, Josh Dirlam (SR/Spring Arbor, MI) and Kirk Markowski (SR/Dryden, Ontario, CAN). Dirlam and Markowski shot a 2-over par 74 to finish in a tie for sixth place, six shots back of Scott. Miguel Sanchez (SR/Cadiz, Spain) finished tied for eighth with Josh Wilson (JR/Papillion, Neb. ) who both shot 4-over 76.
Zach Farrer was tied for 23rd following his 9-over par 81.
Lawrence Tech is back on the course Saturday, September 9 when they host WHAC Jamboree No. 2 at Arbor Hills G.C. in Jackson, Mich. Opening tee-time is set for 11 a.m.
