SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University men's hockey White team rolled past Toledo (Ohio) University 4-2 on Friday night.
In the first period of play, Joey Bruce found Jason Drummy on a power play to open the scoring with 6:24 left. The Rockets equalized in the second period on a shot from Lucas Dwelle, assisted by Jesse McCgown. With just 9 ticks left on the clock before the final period, Austin Fullmer notched another goal for the Blue Devils on an assist from David Gasior.
Dillion Tierney gave LTU a 3-1 edge at the 6:39 minute mark of the third period but was followed up by a Toledo goal four minutes later from McCgown. Up by just one with 1:17 left to play, Tyler Magdich added an insurance goal for Lawrence Tech, sealing the contest 4-2 Blue Devils
The Blue Devils travel to Toledo on Saturday for game two.
