SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University women's soccer team was honored with several WHAC postseason awards, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Tia Lamie (FR/Portage, Mich.) is the first Blue Devils to earn First Team All-WHAC honors, she did so as a freshman with a team high 13 goals and 28 points. Lamie also broke the LTU record for most goals in a season and most goals scored by a freshman in a season. She ranks third in the WHAC and 40th in the NAIA in total goals and ranks third in the WHAC in goals per game at 0.76. She ranks fourth in points per game at 1.65.
Jordan Messing (SO/Bruce Twp., Mich.) was named Champions of Character player while Sarah Britain (SR/Kalamazoo, MI), Heather Derstine (SR/Midland, MI), Megan Dixon (SR/Andover, MN), and Nicole Propst (SR/Warren, MI) earned WHAC All-Academic honors. This is the second time Britain and Dixon earned WHAC All-Academic honors.
Lawrence Tech wrapped up the 2016 season on Wednesday, November 2 with a 6-0 loss in the program's first WHAC Tournament appearance.
