SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological University women's soccer team looks to remain undefeated on LTU turf as they take on Davenport (Mich.) University (RV) on Saturday, October 8 at 12:30 P.M.
Lawrence Tech (9-1, 4-0 WHAC) returns to the pitch after handing Indiana Institute of Technology (Ind.) their seventh loss of the season. Tia Lamie attacked early in the sixth minute of play on an assist from Ally Nyboer to put the Blue Devils up 1-0. Heather Derstine was in net for LTU, making six saves on six shots, sealing the 1-0 win for Lawrence Tech.
Davenport enters this match 10-0-1, blanking Marygrove 3-0 in their most recent game. Scoring in the game was sophomore Alayna Hilgendorf, freshman Sabrina Stone and sophomore Juli Knapp. Marygrove was able to get off one shot on goal, giving goalkeeper Amy Corcoran one save. Leading the Panthers on the season is Shameeka Fishley with eight goals and two assists while Katherine Steiner records six goals and three assists. Regan Troff has started seven games in goal for DU, allowing three goals and making 14 saves.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked first in the WHAC and continue to lead the conference in assists per game with 2.50 and shots on goal (11.20).
