DEARBORN, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University (LTU) women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) University on Wednesday afternoon at the Dearborn Racquet and Health Club in Dearborn, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (10-6) was swept in doubles play as Paige Fallu (SO/Livonia, Mich.) and Rylie Fallu (SO/Livonia, Mich.) fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles while Carolyn McCullen (SO/Westland, Mich.) and Missy Coolsaet (SO/Grosse lle, Mich.) dropped their match 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Ana Hernandez Munt (JR/Barcelona, Spain) and Brittany Schmidt (SO/Richmond, Mich.) fell at No. 3 doubles, 8-1 as Saginaw Valley took a 3-0 lead into the singles flights.
McCullen battled her opponent at No. 1 singles, but fell 6-4, 6-2 while P. Fallu dropped her match at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-0. R. Fallu, Hernandez Munt, Coolsaet, and Schmidt all dropped their matches in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
The Blue Devils return to the court on Friday, March 25 when they host Lake Superior State (Mich.) University at Franklin Racquet Club in Southfield, Mich. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
