SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Lawrence Technological (Mich.) University (LTU) women's tennis team fell to Spring Arbor (Mich.) University 6-3 on Wednesday in Spring Arbor, Mich.
Lawrence Tech (10-5) dropped two of the opening three doubles matches with Ana Hernandez Munt (JR/Barcelona, Spain) and Brittany Schmidt (SO/Richmond, Mich.) defeating Alyssa Bart and Jewell Allen 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Paige Fallu (SO/Livonia, Mich.) and Rylie Fallu (SO/Livonia, Mich.) dropped their match at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, to Quincy Banini and Monika Wynne. Carolyn McCullen (SO/Westland, Mich.) and Missy Coolsaet (SO/Grosse lle, Mich.) fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, to Mary-Kate McShane and Emily Joseph.
In singles, McCullen dropped her third match of the spring as fell 6-1, 6-0 to Banini at No. singles. Paige Fallu lost at No. 2 singles 7-6, 6-0 followed by a 7-6, 6-4 win by Rylie Fallu over Wynne at No. 3 singles. Hernandez Munt moved to 5-2 this spring after defeating Joseph 7-5, 6-5 at No. 4 singles. Coolsaet and Schmidt fell at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. Coolsaet fell 6-1, 6-0 and Schmidt 6-2, 6-3.
Lawrence Tech is back on the courts Friday, March 23 at 11 a.m. when they host Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) University at Dearborn Racquet and Health Club.
